There are many things that we need to survive. Food, water, air, shelter, but one thing often forgotten, is one of the most essential for life- blood.
If you are an Angels baseball fan, and you are quick, then you might be able to score some free tickets for the next Anaheim Angels game by donating blood. All you have to do is go to the stadium and sign up. Spots are going fast.
Even though there have been great strides in the development of synthetic blood, we are still years away from actually using it on people.
So that leaves only one choice. We need to gather it, and the only way to do that is to get people to donate. That’s the hard part. No one likes to be poked with needles, and if you haven’t needed a donation yourself then it might be hard to feel the need.
From the American Red Cross website:
When you make a blood donation, you join a very select group. Currently only 3 out of every 100 people in America donate blood.
(Thanks to Inge for the heads up on the tickets.)
