When my son was a few weeks old, he would wake up in the middle of sleep crying because he was awake but still tired. I made sure his tummy was full, his diaper was clean & everything else was fine, but he would still be crying. Then I remembered that we had received a ‘Sleep Sheep™ Babies Soothing Sound Machine’ as a baby gift before my son was born. I decided to give it a try.
The sheep itself was too big to be put in his little bassinet & there was no way to attach the lamb to it using the velcro strap on the lamb, so I took the small removable sound maker out of the sheep & put it in the bassinet by itself.
The sound machine plays four different sounds; Mother’s Heartbeat, Ocean Waves, Spring Showers and Whale Songs. My son loved the Ocean Waves the most, maybe because it was like soft ‘sshhh…’ sounds I made when calming him down. I turned it on right after putting him down to sleep & he fell asleep within a minute. From then on when ever he woke up in the middle of the night crying, I made sure he was fed and clean then turned the sound machine on. I surely love this little sound machine. It helped me through lots of sleepless nights without all the tiring ‘sshh…ing’ 🙂
The sound machine has four buttons for the sounds & a volume knob. It has a timer that will stop it automatically; which was perfect for us, since once my son fell asleep, he didn’t need to keep listening to it to stay asleep. The constant sound would have drove us crazy. It required 2 AA batteries that are included.
The original ‘Sleep Sheep’ is about 12 inches tall but the ‘Sleep Sheep On The Go’ is about 8 inches tall. Normal retail price is under $30, but you might be able to find one online for under $20.
Have a great night sleep 🙂
